Job Title : GENERAL MANAGER – QUALITY MANAGEMENT Department /Section : Quality Management / Heavy Duty Cooling Systems JOB PURPOSE: Provide strategic direction in the quality improvement and verification in all aspects of the operations including the deployment and maintenance of Quality Systems, external standards and initiatives in order to support the business in its objectives to provide quality products complying to local and international standards. PERSON SPECIFICATIONS) Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferably with a masters degree in Industrial Engineering. Minimum 20 years relevant experience in Quality Assurance / Quality Control with at least 10 years experience as a Head of Quality in a large industrial organization. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, highly persuasive and a good negotiator. Adequate exposure / experience in Total Quality management (TQM), Statistical Quality Content, and Six Sigma methodologies. Adequate experience as a Lead Assessor / Lead Auditor for ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 (ISO 18001 an added factor). With strong strategic leadership and People Management skills (capable of handling large QA / QC teams of ~ 100p persons). Sound Judgement, customer focused and having a good business sense. Adaptable to changes in the work environment, competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events. Keep abreast of all latest Major quality initiatives, programs and Best Practices in the international and local arena which are good for the business. Provide direction to the top management in the introduction of major quality initiatives which shall add value to the organization in the long run. Lead in the development of the budget, plans and other requirements to serve as guidelines for the QA team in the development and implementation of the project / initiative. Lead and support the QA Team in the development of the relevant documentation and other requirements for the initiative / project. Serve as a primary contact point with external parties (e.g. consultants, certification bodies etc.) to support the implementation of the quality initiative / project. Introduce, new / revised standards created / maintained by external bodies as and when required by the business in improving its operations and compliance to the relevant organizations. 2 QUALITY MANAGEMENT STANDARDS, POLICY & PROCEDURES – Ensure the development and implementation of the Quality Managements? standards, policies & procedures to provide a clear and common framework for all related QA / QC activities. ? Lead in the development of the Quality Management Standards, Policies, and Procedures, guidelines, forms and other required documentation to support the activities of the QA / QC team. ? Ensure the standards, policies and procedures are in line with the Corporate Vision and objectives. ? Ensure the timely documentation and communication to the relevant parties including the QA / QC team. ? Ensure its continual improvement and enhancement to maintain consistency with the changing business process and other developments. ? Create an environment for the QA / QC team in voicing out their recommendations on its improvement and enhancement. 3 QUALITY ASSURANCE ? Ensure the timely provision of the Quality improvements and initiatives, including technical support, to the relevant parties concerned in fabrication and assembly of the product unit in order to support the business. ? Oversee and guide the QA team in the development of initiatives and improvements in the QC systems & methodologies, Production processes and all other related items towards the enhancement of its function in the production of quality units. ? Directs the QA team in the development and implementation of a system to evaluate the performance of Vendors to ensure their qualification in providing the required material support to the organization. ? Ensure the provision of quality related documentation and support to other Departments as and when required. ? Ensure a proactive approach to improve quality of work at site, minimize rework and demonstrate continual improvement. ? Participate in product and process improvement projects with Engineering, Manufacturing and Sales. 4 QUALITY CONTROL ? Ensure the inspection and testing of the Company?s process and products and the resolution of non conformances in order to ensure the company?s product meets the quality standards of the different organization bodies which the company is a member of. ? Oversee the conduct of the QC team to the different activities on the monitoring and resolving of non conformances to ensure the Products meet the quality standards upon release. ? Ensure the continuous function of the Component Test Lab through the testing and inspection of materials and items to monitor its compliance to the rigorous standards of the organization. ? Ensure the coordination and support provided by the Quality Control Team to the production, material management and other units to the resolution of issues and non conformances. ? Ensure the accuracy and the timely submission of reports by the QC team to the Quality Management. 5 STANDARDS / ISO CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS ? Ensure the QA / QC teams? conduct and delivery of the different activities in order to monitor and maintain the organization?s compliance to the relevant ISO & other local and international standards requirements. ? Provide leadership in the management of the different QA activities in monitoring and ensuring the compliance of the different department / parties to the Company?s Quality Management System and international standards. ? Act out as the Management Representative and Lead Assessor for the Company?s ISO certification requirements and meet with the external auditors to support their activities. ? Ensure the timely resolution of all Non Conformances / Improvements and other finding by the relevant auditors. ? Ensure the organization?s timely and accurate completion of all requirements for the ISO standards. ? Review and recommend on the upgrade or change of the Company?s ISO certification as and when necessary for the business. 6 BUDGET & OPERATIONAL COST EFFICIENCY ? Prepare the annual Budget for the Quality Management and ensure its efficient implementation and control to maximize the effectiveness of the function in providing its services to the organization and the business. ? Based on the inputs provided by the team, the division?s historical data and the planned programs and activities, develop the divisional budget for the year taking into consideration all potential cost and expenditures of the division. ? Formulate, review and revise the Organizational Structure in line with current and future business needs in order to optimize its services to the organization. ? Communicate to the relevant parties on the approved Budget and ensure their utmost compliance to the budget. ? Monitor and approve all cost / expenditures against the approved budget. ? Lead in the development and advocacy of cost management and operational efficiency process / programs and initiatives in the division. 7 PEOPLE MANAGEMENT – Build, manage and motivate the Quality Management staff towards Team development and exemplary performance in order to maximize productivity and harmony. ? Ensure that the Quality Management structure is staffed with appropriate caliber professionals and organize the motivation, training and development to perform their tasks as specified in their job descriptions. ? Organize the appraisal of staff to assess the effectiveness of available staff to meet current and future needs. ? Plan the systematic succession planning for all key jobs in order to ensure continuous growth and sustainability of the division in the future. ? Achieve the required level of Saudization for the division in order to obtain compliance to Government requirements. ? Ensure the execution of responsibilities by the team is maintained in a high level of ethical, moral and professional standards. ?
